This page presents stacked images and catalogues for the CFHTLS Deep and Wide Fields.
If you use this data in a publication, please include the following acknowledgment:
"Based on observations obtained with MegaPrime/MegaCam, a joint project
of CFHT and CEA/DAPNIA, at the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope (CFHT)
which is operated by the National Research Council (NRC) of Canada,
the Institut National des Science de l'Univers of the Centre National
de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) of France, and the University of
Hawaii. This work is based in part on data products produced at the
Canadian Astronomy Data Centre as part of the Canada-France-Hawaii
Telescope Legacy Survey, a collaborative project of NRC and CNRS."
There currently three versions of the Deep Fields:
-
The final version (2008B) was produced
after the completion of the CFHTLS Deep survey. It contains all
usuable data taken as part of the completed survey.
-
In addition, "best seeing" versions of the Deep fields
have been produced (2008B.IQ).
These images have final image qualities of 0.65 arcseonds.
The selection of the best seeing is dicussed in detail
here.
There is only one version of the Wide fields.
Much of the Wide data are public, but some are proprietary and are only
available to the Canadian and French astronomical
communities, but some images are public.

The following will give you links to the images and catalogues.
Alternatively, you can browse the CFHTLS and retreive images, catalogs
or image cutouts using
a Google Maps type interface:
For the Deep fields only, you can view the sky at a number of different wavelengths
from X-ray to Radio, again using a Google Maps interface.
The non-CFHTLS data available for the Deep Fields is listed on
the following page:

These data were generated by Stephen Gwyn of the University of
Victoria and the Canadian Astronomical Data Centre. The
first version
of these images was produced and released shortly after the first Elixir-processed
images became available from CFHT in early 2003. It became public
30 June 2006. Since then, new public version have been generated
semi-annually.
The previous public releases were:
- 30 June 2006
- 1 January 2007 (2007A)
- 1 September 2007 (2007B)
- 1 February 2008 (2008A)
