IVOA Interop 2006

Getting to Victoria

By Air :

The Victoria International Airport (YYJ) is located 30 km north of the city. There is a shuttle bus that stops at most local hotels,
including the meeting hotel, for about $15.  A taxi will cost ~$40.

There are also a number of companies which offer float plane service to the inner harbour, just blocks from the hotel.  Information
on float planes can be found at Tourism Victoria.

By Sea :

Ferries run between the mainland and Vancouver Island from various points in Washington State and British Columbia.
The Victoria Clipper is a foot-passenger ferry which runs from downtown Seattle to downtown Victoria.  The Coho is a vehicle
ferry which runs from Port Angeles, Washington to downtown Victoria .

Both BC Ferries and Washington State Ferries have routes to Schwartz Bay, which is approximately 35 km north of Victoria.

Rental Car Information

Since the meeting hotel is located within walking distance to downtown and most major attractions, a rental car is not recommended.
There are rental agencies downtown, if you're interested in renting a car for a day for an outing. Parking at the hotel is available
at a rate of $7 a day.
